    “Good experience with a few hiccups”

    When I called the phone number on our reservation, I was connected to the previous owner of the property. He told me that the new owners had purchased the property 10 days before our arrival. He gave me the new owner's phone number and I was able to talk to him about the location from the York train station. It's at least a 15 minute brisk walk from the train station.

    The facility is up-to-date and well maintained in a very pleasant neighborhood. It's located on a very busy street but access to buses and the Hop on Hop Off bus is just across the street. The York city center is a good 30 minute walk.

    Because the new owners had recently moved in, I think they weren't quite prepared for their guests. They were pleasant but seemed distracted. The included breakfast was good but it took time to receive it since it had to be prepared and brought up from the basement kitchen. The only issue we had, and it was totally our problem, is that the room was on the 3rd floor and my wife's knee was giving her problems. Climbing the stairs was difficult for her.

    I would hope future guests will find The Ashberry running smoothly as the new owners settle in.
